Master the Met 2010

I've joined hundreds of others throughout our community to raise funds for the American Lung Association, fight for cleaner air and prevent lung disease.

For me, my climb or run to the top is in honor of friends and family that have battled some type of lung disease in their lives. Outside of the people I run for that I know personally, here are a few frightening statistics that help push me to the top:

  • Lung Cancer kills more women than breast cancer and ovarian cancer combined

  • Lung disease is the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States

  • 35 million Americans are living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

  • Approximately 14 million adults in the U.S. have asthma

These are just a few of the facts that help illustrate the need for education and awareness as well as for finding a cure for the various types of lung disease. It's way more than just trying to tell people to stop or to not start smoking. Lung disease effects a lot more than just smokers.

Please join me in my efforts to make a difference in the air we all breathe by following this link and making a donation!

Your donation (big or small!) to the American Lung Association can help make an impact by funding life saving research, education and advocacy efforts.

Thank you!

Cheers!
